Alka Mulakaluri is an Ayurveda practitioner and California Licensed massage therapist. She has been practicing in Bay area for the last 10 years. In her practice, Alka integrates both massage and Ayurveda to educate and naturally heal her clients. Her certifications include a diploma in Ayurvedic sciences (DAS), Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner (AWP), Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) and Panchakarma (PK).
Ayurveda is 5000 thousand years old traditional medical system from India. It’s a natural science that emphasizes diet, life-style, daily routines, herbal remedies, daily practice of Yoga, meditation and breathing exercises for physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
Alka specializes in diet, life-style and Ayurvedic mental health consultation; as well as educating clients in practice of therapeutic Yoga, meditation and Pranayama (breathing exercise).
Alka is very compassionate and dedicated to her work; she specializes in the classical Ayurvedic detox program “Panchakarma,” and Ayurvedic body work.
As a massage therapist, she specializes in Swedish, deep-tissue, trigger points, sports massage, pre-natal and post-pregnancy care massage.
Combination of these modalities complements Allopathic and Naturopathic medicines. Offering support to referred clients who need post-operative care, pre-natal and post-natal care, recovery from traumatic injuries, chronic pain and nerve pain, insomnia, detoxification, and much more.
Alka is associated with the Kerala Ayurveda Academy in Fremont, as a senior practitioner, as well as faculty and trainer for graduate interns and junior practitioners.
Alka believes that education is the simplest way to spread awareness of the natural healing power among people in society. She runs many community-based programs for senior citizens, children, corporate groups to educate and promote self-healing, self-care, and natural well-being.
She volunteers for Sutter Health Hospice. She is a member of Rotary International Fremont.
Alka has received her Ayurveda education from Ayurveda schools in the Bay area, as well as received classical training from renowned Ayurveda schools and clinics in India. She completed her massage therapy from Everest College in San Francisco.
